Telemedicine usage will most likely be embraced by more practices as patient demand continues and payors pay. This presentation will address potential areas of risk and provide basic strategies for providing quality patient care through the use of this technology.
Over 10 million Americans rely on medical devices that may be vulnerable to cyberattacks. The COVID-19 pandemic has only increased the public’s reliance on these medical devices. MRI scanners, x-ray machines, heart rate monitors, blood pressure monitors, respiration monitors, glucose sensors, brain liquid pressure sensors, endoscope capsules, and cardiac arrhythmia monitors/recorders are examples of medical devices at risk. This activity discusses the vulnerabilities and provides risk mitigation strategies.
